When you start working on multiple songs at once, like we do right now with Elephunk, you might notice a big wave of new ideas coming in. But what now? On our last rehearsal we started to do some song housekeeping. We sat together and listed all the songs, ideas or even only patterns on flipcharts.
Oh boy! Our songnaming is really difficult. After a lot of listening and talking we came up with an impressive list of proposals of new stuff, but we realized that they all have strange names! Songlist so far:
- Money or Gold
- Goosebumps
- Social Media (a.k.a. Treble Left)
- Shave ass (one hell of a typo)
- ATR (A tribute to Rebelliet a.k.a. SoulFunk)
- Kings & Queens (a.k.a. Bad Santa )
- Ball Ade
- Phunky Gameboy
- Botze Botze Bullhit
- PPM
- Money for Flora
- Heino’s Revenge
- Full Mood
Now we will start to track the progress of each song, using stickies (Red, Yellow, Green) and dots (for every time we play the song) to keep an overview on where we stand in our creative journey to new music.
I think it might become difficult to keep track of which song is what, as we will change song names as we develop the lyrics!
